Every other Monday at the Radio Ranch is Music Meeting. That's where we get together and listen to tunes from the Nashville New Music Truck and see what we might be playing soon.

From yesterday's's what we're digging and hopefully, you'll be digging too.

Alan Jackson, I Still Like Bologna (only Alan could sing this and make it a hit)
Zac Brown Band, Toes (these boys are on a roll)
Dierks Bentley, I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes (ladies if you love Dierks, you'll love this one)
Mallary Hope, Love Lives On (she is brand new and full of talent...this song hits you right between the eyes)
Joey & Rory, To Say Goodbye (saddest song I've heard in a long, long time)
Jerrod Niemann, One More Drinkin' Song (Jimmy Buffett anyone?)
Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kick In the Head (country from CCR-you gotta love it)
two more new guys that are really good and you'll be hearing...Josh Thompson and Easton Corbin

You'll start to hear these songs through the month of August. If you've got opinions on new music...please shoot me a message.

Much has been made of Jennifer Nettles scrapping several performances lately because of voice problems and now Kenny Chesney has come to the rescue with this statement.

"It was really sad to see the way some people reacted to Jennifer needing to cancel her appearance in San Francisco last weekend -- and it seems to me we should all be concerned about her long-term vocal health more than any single show that she may not be able to do. Naturally I'm disappointed she's not out here with us -- cause she is a friend as well as an act I know the fans enjoy -- but I think it's more important that she have the time to heal properly, rather than forcing herself to try and rush back onstage. I know she'll be back before the summer, and can't wait to have her back out there. But it's about doing the right thing, and we should all be supporting her in that."

One thing is for sure...hope that she gets well soon...she plays with Keith Urban in Tulsa August 8th and headlines the Zoo with Billy Currinton on 9/11.

I am excited about our very first every “New Face Showcase” August 20th at Riverwind Casino! We have 10 great acts that will be performing acoustically…some have been around a while…others are just getting started.

Here’s some info on each.

Joe Nichols

2 #1s and 6 Tops 10s…Joe carries the torch for traditional country. His sixth album features the debut hit…Believers…now climbing the charts. He will headline and help host our show.

James Otto

He dominated the airwaves in 2007 with “Just Got Started Loving You”…his first #1. James is not only a great singer, but was a co-writer of Jamey Johnson’s “In Color”.

Eli Young Band

Fans familiar with the local “red dirt” scene are very familiar with the band…but now they are becoming known nationally with their very first ever top ten song “Always the Love Songs”.

Justin Moore

His new single “Small Town USA” is headed Top 10 and his new album will be in stores August 11th.

David Nail

I loved his cover of Train’s “I’m About to come alive” and his new single “Red Light” sure grows on you. Check him out at

Jessica Harp

One half of the Wreckers will bring her solo act to our show. You can get more at

Caitlyn & Will

These guys knocked me out on their radio visit…this girl can sing! “Address in the Stars” is their debut single and had the entire conference room in tears. Here’s more

Kate & Kacey

Will charm your socks off…they are twins…beautiful and talented.

Jonathan Singleton

He’s been on a roll lately writing hit records for Billy Currington (Don’t), Gary Allan (Watchin’ Airplanes) and David Nail’s (Red Light). And he’s got a new project of his own…check him out

Mac McAnally

Well let’s see…he’s written songs for Jimmy Buffett, Hank Jr., Alabama’s “Old Flame” and also songs by Reba, TG Sheppard, David Allan Coe, Shenandoah, Ricky Van Shelton Charley Pride, Randy Travis and Steve Wariner. Check him out at
